General principles of statics. Materials and elements of farm buildings. Energy balance of farm buildings. Examples of rural buildings. Design of farm buildings (CAD). Survey and representation of rural territory. Measures of distances, angles and differences in level and relevant instruments. Simple topographic surveys. Global Positioning Systems. Reading and using of topographic maps, cadastral maps.
For Topography and Cartography part, it is possible to utilize books of High Schools.
Learning Objectives
Knowledge acquired: the main goal is to form the students in relation to problems concerning the working of a farm building and concerning the survey and representation of the territory
Competence acquired (at the end of the course): Methods to evaluate and design farm buildings; methods to read maps and to carry out topographic works.
Skills acquired (at the end of the course):
the student must acquire capacities necessary to carry out works concerning the design of rural and agricultural and food buildings. The student has to know the reading and using of the maps, in order to carry out topographic surveys and to analyze the territory.
